Lahore’s First Floating Restaurant Near Ravi Canal Set to Welcome Diners This Year
Lahore is preparing to add a unique attraction to its food and leisure scene, as the city’s first floating restaurant is expected to open for the public later this year. Officials say the project has entered its final construction phase, with work progressing at a fast pace.
The three-storey floating structure is being developed on a canal linked to the River Ravi, close to Jallo Park. Project managers confirmed that most civil and structural work is nearing completion, while final safety inspections will determine the exact opening timeline.

Once operational, the restaurant will be able to accommodate over 200 guests, offering a waterfront dining experience unlike anything currently available in Lahore. The design includes both indoor seating and open-air spaces, allowing visitors to enjoy scenic canal views while dining.
To ensure stability, authorities are deepening and reinforcing the canal, removing silt and sand from the canal bed. Officials believe the project could emerge as a new family-friendly landmark, enhancing Lahore’s urban lifestyle and tourism appeal.
