Railway School Fees Revised Across Pakistan, Parents Face Higher Education Costs
Pakistan Railways has implemented a revised fee structure for schools operating under its administration, with the new rates taking effect from this month, affecting both railway employees’ children and non-railway students.
Under the updated schedule, the monthly tuition fee for children of railway employees studying from Grade 1 to Grade 10 has been increased from Rs700 to Rs900. For wards of employees and officers from Grades 11 to 22, the fee now stands at Rs1,000, up from Rs800.

Students who are not children of railway employees have also been impacted. Their monthly fee has been raised from Rs1,300 to Rs1,500 in major cities. In Samasatta and Khanewal, non-railway students will now pay Rs1,200 instead of Rs1,000.
Similarly, railway-run schools in Sukkur and Rohri have increased fees for non-railway students from Rs850 to Rs1,050.
Railway officials confirmed the changes are effective immediately. Parents, particularly railway employees, have expressed concern, saying the increase adds pressure amid rising inflation and education costs across the country.
