Islamabad Motorists Can Now Get M-Tag in Minutes as Deadline Nears
Vehicle owners in Islamabad can now obtain their M-Tag within minutes, as authorities simplify the registration process to encourage timely compliance. Officials say the quick issuance is aimed at reducing congestion at motorway toll plazas and ensuring smooth travel on major routes.
Only two documents are required for registration: a valid vehicle registration card or book and the CNIC of the vehicle owner. No extra forms, photocopies, or lengthy procedures are involved. If documents are complete, the M-Tag is issued immediately.

To make the process easier, 15 M-Tag registration centers have been set up across Islamabad by One Network, allowing motorists to register near their homes or daily routes. Authorities have advised citizens not to delay registration, warning that traveling without an M-Tag after the deadline could cause inconvenience.
An M-Tag is an electronic toll sticker that enables automatic toll deduction, allowing vehicles to pass through plazas without stopping, saving time and fuel while supporting cashless travel across Pakistan’s motorway network.
