Majority of Punjab Residents Favor January 19 Reopening for Schools and Colleges
Public opinion in Punjab strongly supports extending winter holidays, with most parents and teachers preferring that schools and colleges reopen on January 19. The feedback was gathered through a Facebook poll conducted by Punjab’s Provincial Minister for Education, Rana Sikandar Hayat, amid the ongoing cold wave.
According to the poll, over 108,000 participants backed reopening on January 19, while only around 16,000 supported an earlier reopening on January 12. This shows that more than 86% of respondents favor the later date to protect students from severe cold, particularly younger children who are more vulnerable to illness.
