Pakistan Reveals 2026 Public Holidays Calendar

The Government of Pakistan has officially released the public holidays schedule for 2026, giving citizens and organizations an early look at the year’s planned breaks. The announcement helps employees, businesses, and educational institutions organize work schedules and travel plans in advance.

According to the notification, Pakistan will observe around 17 public holidays in 2026, covering national events, religious occasions, and bank holidays. These holidays will be observed across the country by government offices and most private institutions.

Key dates include Kashmir Day on February 5, Pakistan Day on March 23, Labour Day on May 1, Youm-e-Takbeer on May 28, Independence Day on August 14, and Quaid-e-Azam Day on December 25, which coincides with Christmas.

Major Islamic occasions such as Eid ul Fitr, Eid ul Adha, Ashura, and Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ are also included in the schedule. Authorities have clarified that the exact dates for these religious holidays may change, as they depend on moon sighting confirmed by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.

Citizens have been advised to finalize leave and travel plans only after official confirmations closer to each holiday, especially for religious occasions.
