Similarly, petrol (Motor Spirit) has seen a sharper cut of Rs10.28 per liter, with the new price fixed at Rs253.17. The reduction is being viewed as significant amid ongoing pressure from inflation and rising household expenses.
The Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division) said the decision was made on the recommendations of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) after assessing global oil prices and domestic market trends.
In the previous fuel review, diesel prices were reduced by Rs6, while petrol rates remained unchanged, making the latest cut more impactful for transporters, commuters, and businesses alike.
