Punjab Updates Driving License Fees: What Motorists Need to Know Right Now
The Punjab government has clarified the latest driving license fees for residents applying for new licenses or renewing existing ones. The updated fee structure applies across Punjab and is being implemented through the Traffic Police and Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS).
For a learner driving license, applicants are required to pay a basic fee, while a permanent driving license carries a higher cost depending on the duration of validity. Citizens renewing expired licenses may face additional charges, especially if the license has remained expired for an extended period.

Authorities have advised applicants to use official online portals or designated traffic police centers to avoid overcharging by agents. Payments can be made through approved bank branches or digital payment methods where available.
Officials say the fee structure aims to improve service delivery, reduce delays, and promote transparency in the licensing process. Drivers are encouraged to keep their licenses valid to avoid fines, legal issues, and inconvenience during traffic checks.
The Punjab Traffic Police has also reminded citizens to carry original documents, including CNIC, medical certificates where required, and fee receipts when visiting licensing offices.
